Analysis of the Effects of Occupational Therapy Intervention Based on the Occupational Performance Coaching Model

Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to lay the foundation for clinical application of occupational therapy by examining the literature review on occupational therapy intervention techniques and effects based on the occupational performance coaching model.

Methods: Pubmed, Wiley Online Library, ScienceDirect, and Google scolar were used as search engines, and ¡°Occupational performance¡±, ¡°Coaching¡±, and ¡°Occupational Therapy¡± were used as keywords. As a result of the search, a total of 4,408 articles were extracted, and 10 articles were selected and analyzed and reviewed according to the criteria.

Results: In most literatures, OPC intervention showed significant improvement in reliability improvement between therapist, client, and family, and showed a significant effect when comparing performance and satisfaction before and after intervention using COPM. Therefore, providing systematic and individualized coaching to clients and their families can be very useful in daily life, and it is possible to obtain greater satisfaction in the daily life of the subjects.

Conclusion: The use of OPC showed a significant improvement in the quality of performance through various studies, and it was also effective in improving the quality of life of the caregiver and the relationship with the therapist. In addition, it was found that, as an occuptioanl-based family-centered intervention, client-centered coaching skills are needed in the clinical field of occupational therapy.
